Flickerfest opens this week | 7 Jan - 16 Jan 2011 at Bondi Beach with a tour of the rest of Australia to follow.
The Short Film festival will screen 108 films officially in competition, of which 11 will be world premieres and 46 will be Australian premieres.

FlickerFest announce Programme
FlickerFest have announced their programme of short films to be screened in Bondi from Jan 8th 2011 until March 16th 2011 also touring nationally)
The competition categories for 2011 include International and Australian short films, short documentaries and two new categories this year - GreenFlicks, a program of eco-friendly themed films and FlickerUp, a competition open to primary and high school student filmmakers across Australia.
Special showcases screening out of competition include Flickerkids specially curated for a younger audience, Comedy Shorts, a Star Wars short film tribute and a special Spotlight on Poland program, celebrating award winning Polish shorts.

FILMMAKING AT THE APPLE STORE, BONDI
As part of the Bondi Short Film Festival, Apple will host a series of inspirational talks with filmmakers as well as educational workshops on iMovie and Final Cut Pro. The events will be moderated by Francis Coady, founder and director of the Bondi Short Film Festival, now in its tenth year.
Meet the Filmmaker: Keith Loutit
Thursday 18 November, 6:30pm
Meet photographer and filmmaker Keith Loutit as he discusses how he used his pioneering tilt-shift/time-lapse photography technique to transform iconic and familiar Sydney scenes into miniature wonderlands for his latest project, Small Worlds. This will be moderated by Francis Coady, found and director of the Bondi Short Film Festival.

Meet the Filmmaker: Max Walker
Thursday 25 November, 6:30pm
Australian filmmaker Max Walker has worked in some of the most dangerous regions of the world. In 2009, he travelled to Iraq to document the quest of fellow filmmaker Sam Zuisradras, an Australian/ Iraqi man on a mission to discover why his long-lost father was found in a mass grave just north of Baghdad. Join us as Max talks about working without a film crew and reveals an alternative form of filmmaking in a conflict zone. The film Max will be talking about is set to screen on SBS, on SBS on Tuesday 23rd November at 8:30pm. This will be moderated by Francis Coady, found and director of the Bondi Short Film Festival.

Flickerfest 2010 Crew Call
Get film experience & a professional film credit working on a professional production with an award-winning crew .
Flickerfest, Australia’s largest and only Academy and BAFTA Accredited short film festival is currently producing the 2011 festival trailer and require volunteer crew to supplement and assist the professional crew for a one day studio shoot.
The trailer will be screened nationally on television as well as cinemas around the country and online.
The roles to be filled are:
- 1 x runner
- 1 x production assistant
- 2 x costume assistant
- 1 x unit assistant
- 1 x extras coordinator
The runner must have their own car and will receive petrol costs. All crew must be available Wed 3rd November for the shoot. Other crew will be required several days during pre production.
