Entries NOW OPEN - Mudfest
Entries for the 7th Mudgee International Short Film Festival 2011
are now open. Screening every year on the 3rd weekend of March in the picturesque NSW central ranges town of Mudgee, Mudfest is renown for showcasing some of the best short films from around the globe and is the ideal place for new and seasoned filmakers alike to display their work.
Finalists are selected from the entries submitted. Every year over 500 films from every corner of the earth are submitted to Mudfest. Films may be any genre but must not be longer than 15mins in duration.

Entries NOW OPEN - St Kilda FF
Embarking on its 28th year the St Kilda Film Festival, presented and produced by the City of Port Phillip, screens Australian short films in all genres including drama, comedy, documentary, animation and digital media. The 2011 competition will screen the ‘Top 100’ short film entries received. These films make up the key element of the St Kilda Film Festival program which also screens a selection of international short films along with interactive Industry Forums and a number of special events.
The Top 100 are all in competition for a prize pool which totals over $40,000 worth of cash and in-kind craft awards, including a $10,000 prize for Best Short Film. Other prizes include Best Director, Best Achievement in Screenplay, Best Documentary, Best Animation, Best Achievement in Cinematography, Best Achievement in Indigenous Film Making, Best Comedy and Best Achievement in Sound Post. As well as the short film competition, St Kilda Film Festival features the SoundKILDA Music Video Competition. Prizes will be awarded in two categories: Best Music Video and Best Music Video – Animation. Entries are closing on the 26 Nov for the 2nd annual Warrambeen Film Festival.
The Warrambeen Film Festival will screen films in several different venues throughout the day culminating in the showing of the finalist films on the main screen on The Bank for the audience and judges. Films are judged on merit but a preference is given to those that have regional/rural content, or that have key creatives of regional/rural origin.

Entries NOW OPEN - Young at Heart
Entries are now open for the 2011 Young At Heart Short Film Awards, a national film competition which highlights the artistic contribution made by seniors to Australian cinema
Now in their 5th year, the Young At Heart Short Film Awards showcase the best new Australian short films starring seniors, selected from a national call for submissions. To be eligible, films must be Australian, completed no earlier than Jan 1st 2009, run less than 20 minutes and feature one or more lead actors over 60 years of age.
There is no entry fee and deadline for submissions is February 1st 2010. Finalists compete for two $1,000 cash awards. NSW Seniors Week Talent Award, decided by a jury of industry professionals, recognizes exceptional acting from a person over the age of 60. The Audience Award goes to the Best Film, as voted for by the audience.

Entries Open WEFF
The 2011 West End Film Festival (WEFF) is currently accepting Australian short films from all genres including drama, documentary, animation and music clips. WEFF welcomes first time filmmakers and encourages Aboriginal, queer, political, punk, experimental, and creative filmmakers to enter their works. An awards ceremony and gala event will take place March 27th at the Rumpus Cinema (directly behind West End’s Rumpus Room bar). All films will be in the running for cash prizes and the opportunity to screen in front of hundreds of people in one of Australia’s most creative hubs, Brisbane’s West End.

Entries NOW OPEN
The Australian Refugee Film Festival wishes to announce that submissions for the 2011 edition of the festival are now open. Submissions are free and open to both Australian and International films, up to 10-15 minutes in duration.
In particular, they are seeking films that address the following issues:
· Environmental displacement due to climate change
· The refugee journey and the obstacles associated with it
· Personal triumph stories of refugees and asylum seekers
· Documented work of local and international organisations with refugees and asylum seekers
Films do not have to be limited to the above topics; the main criterion is that the film engages with refugee and asylum seeker issues both nationally and internationally.

Make a short tennis film no longer than 90 seconds duration with the theme ‘TAKE TWO’.
Entries are now open and will close on Friday, 14 January 2011. The best entries will be shown on giant screens at Australian Open 2011.
The Best Short Film will be judged by a panel of four and win AUD$5000. A Peoples’ Choice Award of $2500 will be voted by the cast and crew of Australian Open 2011 including players, tournament staff and fans coming to watch the tennis.
