{Entries Open} St Kilda FF Shorts

Entries for the 2012 St Kilda Film Festival Short Film Competition and Soundkilda Australian Music Video Competition close on 27 January.

In 2012 the competition will screen the Top 100 short film entries received, and the competition is fierce! The short film competition awards over $40,000 worth of cash and in-kind craft awards, including a $10,000 prize for Best Short Film!

The Festival also features the SoundKILDA Australian Music Video Competition where prizes are awarded in four categories, Best Music Video, Best Independent Music Video, Best Music Video - Animation and the special Audience Award voted for and presented the night of the screening.

{Entries Open} Shorts Film Festival

Australian filmmakers from around the globe compete for one of the best prize pools for short films in Australia, including the Gold Shorts first prize of a trip to an overseas film festival such as Cannes. Other awards include the $10000 Black Shorts prize for Best Indigenous film, post production assistance for your next film, merit prizes for screenwriters; which include cash and prizes from film industry bodies and we have an award for young filmmakers.

Show Fest International 2011 - Entries Open

Show fest have opened entries to the 2011 festival. The festival will be held on the 3rd August at Randwick Ritz, Randwick NSW.

Show fest’s “Show & Tell” format means that at least one cast or crew member is strongly encouraged to attend the screening. They can then talk on-stage about their experience making and promoting their film, and answer questions from the audience.

The headline prize is a production-ready Sony F35 digital cinematography camera package from VA Hire worth $4500. This is matched with a $1000 lighting hire voucher from Xytech Australia and $1000 of location and post audio services from DX Sound. The winner will also have the opportunity of having a DCI DCP made of a short film, an offer worth $2000 from DCP Australia.

FlickerFest announce Programme

FlickerFest have announced their programme of short films to be screened in Bondi from Jan 8th 2011 until March 16th 2011  also touring nationally)

The competition categories for 2011 include International and Australian short films, short documentaries and two new categories this year - GreenFlicks, a program of eco-friendly themed films and FlickerUp, a competition open to primary and high school student filmmakers across Australia.

Special showcases screening out of competition include Flickerkids specially curated for a younger audience, Comedy Shorts, a Star Wars short film tribute and a special Spotlight on Poland program, celebrating award winning Polish shorts.

MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival (Academy Accredited)
